Beer Festival

The inaugural Newclose Beer Festival will take place on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th June (2023’s mid-summer weekend) from 2:00pm to 8:00pm. Newclose’s 250-seater marquee (pictured above) will be available in the event of inclement weather.

Entrance will be £3 which will provide a Beer mug and an Event programme, the latter highlighting the 35 real ales that will be on offer at £4:50 a pint; advance booking is not required. Beer tokens, each buying a half-pint, will be available to purchase.

In addition, there will be cider and wine available for non-beer drinkers – as well as pasties, sausage rolls (traditional as well as cheese and onion varieties) and hot dogs.

Entrance will be either through the main gates to Newclose on the A3020 (a mile outside Newport) or from the Newport to Sandown cycle track.

Southern Vectis routes 2 and 3 pass by - with a Newclose bus stop immediately outside the grounds.

In addition to the tasting of real ales there will be cricket played in the background on both days (weather permitting). On Saturday there's the 'local derby' Isle of Wight league match between Newport 1st XI and Northwood 1st XI and on Sunday there is a County Under 14s 50-0ver match against Gloucestershire.

On Sunday musical entertainment will be provided by the popular local group The Crew - with some Morris dancing thrown in for good measure.

Newclose is Disability Discrimination Act compliant; dogs will also be welcome with water bowls provided.

The trustees hope you will pay Newclose a visit and look forward to welcoming you.
